Boss Training

This course meets the needs of anyone whose work involves lifting or carrying loads. The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require all employers to carry out training for staff who lift or carry loads. This half-day course will help to ensure that employers comply with the above regulations. It can be tailored to individual company needs and is usually delivered on-site at customer's premises.

• Introduction to manual handling
• Lifting and carrying safely
• Techniques to avoid injury and strain
• Manual handling risk assessments
• How risk assessments apply to you
• Lifting and carrying in special situations
• How to recognise and avoid potential problems
• Responsibilities of employers and employees

Aims:

• Delegates will gain an understanding of regulations as well as practical knowledge of lifting and moving. They will be able to identify potential hazards and risks and determine the safest method of manual handling without injury.

Course Duration: half day (4 hours)
