By booking this with us, you will attend our CITB 1 Day Health & Safety Awareness course, led by one of our expert CITB instructors. Once completed, you will then be taken through to your CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test (also known as the CITB Touchscreen Test). This gives you the added benefit of being able to complete both requirements in one day.
This course bundle covers both the CITB 1 Day Health and Safety Awareness course and the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test (CSCS Touchscreen Test).
The CITB 1 Day H&S Awareness course in West Yorkshire provides construction workers with a fundamental understanding of health and safety and how to work safely on site. This course covers legal responsibilities, common construction hazards, safe working practices, accident prevention, emergency procedures, health risks, and environmental considerations.
The CITB HS&E Test (CSCS Touchscreen Test) is an essential requirement for most CSCS card applications. It is designed to assess your knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in the construction industry, helping to ensure you can work safely on site. And proves you have the necessary safety awareness to reduce risks and keep yourself and others safe while working.
What you’ll learn on the CITB Health & Safety Awareness Course
- How to identify legal responsibilities and those of employers under health and safety law
- To recognise common site hazards and explain methods for controlling risk
- How to apply safe working practices, including correct use of PPE and safe manual handling techniques
- The health risks, such as dust, noise, vibration, and hazardous substances, and how to protect themselves
- How to follow the correct procedures for accident reporting and emergency response
- How to interpret safety signs and method statements relevant to site work
- To demonstrate awareness of environmental responsibilities, including waste management and pollution prevention
The CSCS Touchscreen Test will cover:
- General health, safety and welfare
- Risk assessment and accident prevention
- Manual handling
- Working at height
- Hazardous substances
- Environmental awareness
There are no formal prerequisites for the course other than that you must be able to speak and write in English. However, it is recommended that you revise before attending your CSCS Touchscreen test.
The course is entirely theory-based, so you do not need to bring any PPE.
