Any company that uses Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) needs to know what its management and legal responsibilities are when it comes to allowing employees to operate MEWPs.
Under UK health and safety legislation, specifically the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and the Work at Height Regulations 2005, employers are required to provide working at height training to all employees who plan, supervise and manage work at height and the use of any equipment for such work.
Recommended System Requirements:
- An up to date web browser e.g. Chrome or Firefox
- Strong internet connection (3Mb+)
This course places particular emphasis on training delegates in the planning, supervision and management of the use of MEWPs by employees, including conducting risk assessments.
There is also an in-depth session on the regulations and current legislation surrounding the use of powered access machines. The course includes a section which will enhance your understanding of the different types of MEWPs.
The course does not cover how to operate MEWPs; this is included in the IPAF Operator Training Course.
