With the widespread implementation of the TowerSure app and the announcement of PASMA moving to virtual cards as their primary form of certification on their courses by June 2025, we thought we would put together a helpful guide on how the app works, its benefits and what to expect when using it.
What is the TowerSure by PASMA app?
The PASMA TowerSure app was launched in 2022 as a secure and environmentally friendly way to show your competence, giving everyone who has a PASMA qualification a virtual card using the app.
The app has many other uses than just eliminating the need for plastic, paper and postage of PASMA certification. You can also use it to manage tower inspections, access tower checklists, keep records of training compliance and view photos of your towers across all sites, making it useful for those working on site and those who manage sites.
How can my company start using TowerSure?
To get started, you will first need to register your organisation on the PASMA website (https://ria.pasma.co.uk/register),
Once registered, you will then need to:
- Create at least one ‘Project’ (this is your client’s).
- For each project created, create at least one ‘Site’ (location, e.g. Leeds).
- Invite other Safety Managers to install the app.
- Invite other Tower Operatives to register in the management console.
When your safety managers and tower operatives accept their invite and install the app, they will be able to upload photos of their towers and have towers remotely inspected, amongst many other features.

Does the TowerSure app impact a PASMA course?
Yes, you will now learn about the PASMA TowerSure app at the start of all PASMA Courses. The instructor will show you a video demonstrating how to use it and its benefits, allowing you to ask the instructors any questions you may have.
Also, students will now be given the choice between using TowerSure or a paper inspection form during the practical session.
What are the benefits of using the TowerSure App?
One of the main benefits of adopting the app across your organisation is that it simplifies your tower management processes through:

- Secure Storage: All data, including tower images and inspection reports, are securely stored within the app, ensuring that records are preserved even after the tower is dismantled.
- Integration with Virtual Cards: The app integrates seamlessly with PASMA’s Virtual Cards, making it convenient to access certification information even without an internet connection.
Will there be changes to PASMA certification?
As of the 1st of March 2025, we have transitioned from hardcopy PASMA certification to PASMA virtual cards and certificates.
This change is to fall in line with PASMA’s announcement that in 2025, Virtual Cards will become their primary form of certification. We will still be able to order physical cards for you, but it will now incur an additional cost of £15 + VAT.
The virtual card links to your PASMA account and is viewable within the TowerSure app. Even without an internet connection, your virtual card will automatically update if you upgrade. TowerSure is available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store and replaces the previous PASMA app.
