Assessment for the NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management is based on real senior site management practice. Your assessor will guide you in evidencing your role through workplace documents, management records, and structured professional discussion.
The assessment process focuses on leadership, decision making, planning, and control of construction operations at a senior level. All assessments take place in the workplace, allowing managers to achieve a degree-level qualification with no exams or classroom attendance, while continuing in their role.

- Developing and maintaining construction programmes, sequencing and short-term plans
- Leading health, safety and environmental management at a senior level (including compliance systems and monitoring)
- Managing quality systems, inspections, testing and handover processes
- Managing resources and procurement (labour, plant, materials and subcontractors)
- Monitoring progress, reporting performance and managing change (delays, variations and non-conformances)
- Managing communication with clients, designers, stakeholders and supply chain partners
By completing the NVQ Level 6 Site Management qualification, learners will:
- Demonstrate competence in managing construction sites at a senior level
- Plan and control site operations, resources, and programmes
- Lead health, safety, and environmental management systems
- Manage quality assurance and compliance across construction projects
- Communicate effectively with clients, senior management, and stakeholders

You will need access to management level evidence such as programmes, procurement/resource plans, progress reporting, H&S leadership records, quality plans/ITPs, and client/contractor communications. And should be able to take part in structured professional discussions and provide workplace evidence (with confidential information redacted where required).
You must also be working in a senior site or construction management role with responsibility for planning and controlling site operations. This should include managing programmes, budgets/cost control (where relevant), subcontractor performance, quality management, and leading health, safety, and environmental arrangements.
